An Important Message to Parents and Caregivers Regarding COVID-19

We have been closely following public health updates on the COVID-19 virus. We recognize that families continue to feel anxiety about this illness. It is important to note that our local health unit continues to assure us that the risk of infection in our region remains low.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit continues to provide updated information, and we encourage all parents/caregivers and staff to continue to monitor their website.

Families are encouraged to continue reinforcing important preventative measures during cold and influenza seasons, including:

  • washing your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;

  • covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze with a tissue or flexed elbow if you don’t have a tissue;

  • cleaning high-touch surfaces frequently with disinfectant wipes; and

  • if you develop a fever and cough, stay at home until you have fully recovered.

In addition, Childreach will be taking the following proactive measures in our centre:

  • cleaning routines will be adjusted to ensure that all touch points (i.e. handrails, door handles, crash bars, desktops, etc.) are cleaned and sanitized with greater frequency; and

  • custodial staff will take extra care to ensure regular replenishing of foaming hand soap, hand sanitizer, and paper products in our building.

For more information about COVID-19, families may contact Middlesex London Health Unit, talk to your doctor, or call TeleHealth at 1-866-797-0000.

We remain committed to sharing information with families. Thank you for your support as we work to minimize the risk and spread of COVID-19.

Sincerely,

Yvette Scrivener
