Childreach Playdough Recipe
Playdough provides a variety of learning opportunities for your child and builds school readiness skills.
Literacy – Add items that represent a familiar story or would create a new story scene so that your child could re-tell a story or create a new one.
Numeracy – Have your child help make the playdough. Measuring and counting the ingredients promotes numeracy skills.
Fine Motor Skill Development – Rolling, squeezing and creating with the playdough helps strengthen your child’s fine motor skills. These skills are needed for writing.
Creative Thinking – The possibilities are endless with playdough! When you provide additional materials that are open-ended, your child will do the thinking and their creativity will be unleashed!
Social Skills – When children play together or with a parent/caregiver, they learn to take turns especially when materials are at a minimum.
