Dear Childreach, Thank You!
Our family would like to thank the entire team at Childreach for the essential work you do for families in our community. I can say without a doubt that your accessible parenting workshops were critical to our development as parents and as a couple learning how to navigate communication and problem-solving. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude for your services and we hope to support your organization in various capacities as our family grows.
During the holiday season of 2017, my partner and I discovered to our surprise that we were expecting… twins. We experienced a range of emotions at this news. We felt very blessed, as there was a history of complications that led me to believe a pregnancy would be difficult, but at the same time we felt very overwhelmed with the changes that were to come. We weren’t living together at the time, we worked out of different cities and weren’t a married couple. Needless to say, we fully understood that changes had to be made in order to be prepared for TWO babies – so we went into research mode.
A google search led me to Childreach services, where frequent classes were offered on various subjects. We registered for nearly every relevant parenting workshop that was available during our pregnancy and the process was very organized & straightforward. We adjusted our work schedules to make time for each class in order to participate as a couple. The courses exposed us to other parents, at various stages of life. We gained useful insight to countless real-world scenarios on child behaviour, natural parenting reactions and judgement free guidance on best practices. Your courses prompted us to think outside the box, to reflect on our own experiences and share our own parenting beliefs as individuals and as a couple. This led to better communication and empathy, and it bridged the gaps on approaches to our parenting as a team. We left each class feeling more connected and bonded as a couple. Your instructors were always professional, compassionate, and patient. They gave a voice to every individual in the room and validated our concerns while offering straightforward solutions. We have the utmost respect for your team and the way they approach their work with academic insight and sensitivity.
In the summer of 2018, we became parents to a boy and a girl - Henry & Alexandra. We survived the fog of caring for newborns from colic to extreme sleep deprivation – and we did it as a team. Today we have two healthy, happy and curious toddlers who have no reservations on exploring the world around them and expressing an entertaining range of emotions while doing so. We have recalled your teachings countless times, and we have turned to your take-home resources when facing difficulty. Words cannot thank you enough.
We hope that your organization can continue to grow and serve the families of our community. You are a key component of family education and preventive healthcare services to all those who access your daycare, workshops, educational resources, and group events. I know that our family will always do what we can to support your work, and we look forward to finding new services to participate in as our little ones continue to grow.
Sincerely,
Sarah Morkin & Andre DePlonty
