DIY Sun Catcher

What you’ll need:

  • Glue

  • Food colouring

  • Toothpick, popsicle stick, or a utensil

  • Bendable container lid

  • String or twine

  • Hole punch

Fill your lid to the top with glue. Use your popsicle stick to spread the glue throughout the whole lid. Squeeze a few drops of food colouring onto the glue. Use your popsicle stick to spread or combine the drops in the lid. Once you’ve finished let the glue dry overnight (for ours it took two nights). When it is completely dry, peel it off the lid. Then take your hole punch and put a hole near the top and thread string through it. Hold your sun catcher up to the light, or hang your sun catcher in a window with lots of sunshine to see your results.

DIY Stained Glass

What you’ll need:

  • Glue

  • Food colouring

  • Toothpick, popsicle stick, or a utensil

  • Picture frame

  • Plastic suction cup (optional)

Take the backing off your picture frame. Pour your glue onto the glass where the backing would have been. Use your popsicle stick or utensil to spread it all over and make sure to get into all the corners. The glue will secure the glass to the frame but you can also hot glue it as a safety precaution first. Squeeze food colouring onto the glue. Use your utensil to spread or combine the drops in the frame. When you are done, leave the frame to completely dry somewhere for a couple nights. Once it’s dry you can lean it against a window, add a suction cup to hang it from a window or use it as decoration.
