Wild Child: Spend A Week Outside (Pottersburg Valley and Kiwanis Park)
Can you spend time outside having fun every day this week?
You may want to visit Pottersburg Valley ESA and Kiwanis Park. This large combination of natural and managed green space in east London is the perfect space to spend a week or the whole summer outside playing. It boasts paved trails (super easy for strollers, trikes, scooters and everything else with wheels), climbers and swings, a splash pad, and skate park.
Pottersburg Valley ESA
Pottersburg Valley is a smaller ESA. The main trails are wide and accessible. Most of the trail is paved, with a small loop of packed stone. There are two foot bridges, one over the creek and one over train tracks. There are also several benches and picnic tables.
Kiwanis Park
Kiwanis park stretches north of the Pottersburg Valley from Trafalgar St, across Brydges St to Dundas St. The main pathways follows the creek’s path, but the trail is mostly set back from the water.
The section of park between Trafalgar St and Brydges St has rolling grassy hills and open spaces dotted with small treed sections great for running and playing, and a skate park. The section north of Brydges St has baseball diamonds, a park, swings, and a splash pad.
