Wild Wednesday: Echo
This weekend we went to a new spot for our family. “Mystery Falls” was a bit of a drive but very much worth it as the kids got to experience a waterfall and a cave for the first time. For Wells, he was more drawn to the cave, exploring every square inch he could get to. When calling for me he noticed his echo and was absolutely delighted. He spent much of the remaining time experimenting with this new phenomenon to him. He moved around trying out new words in new places to see what would happen.
This is what engagement looks like. Wells was truly immersed in the experience as he used his sight, smell, sound and touch to explore everything this cave had to offer. He was using his gross motor skills as he climbed all around but also his cognition as he experimented with echos growing his causality understanding. This cave was what he was drawn to and allowing him to follow that natural curiosity created room for so much learning and fun!
Next week we will dive into India’s experience with her first waterfall!
