Positive discipline is an approach to parenting that teaches children and guides their behaviour while respecting their rights to healthy development and participation in their learning. Positive discipline is based in research on children’s healthy development and effective parenting and founded on child rights principles.
This interactive 8-week session will provide parents with the tools they need to better understand and support their child’s stage of development, to engage their child’s cooperation and explore healthy discipline strategies to take home.
Thursdays, April 20 - June 8 from 6 to 7:30pm via Zoom.
NOTE: A follow-up class will be held 2 weeks after the session has ended.- Thursday, June 22
Who is PDEP for?
PDEP is for all parents, grandparents, foster parents and others who care for children of all ages. It’s also for future parents.
PDEP can be helpful for any family. Some children have particular challenges that are not typical for their age, perhaps due to neurodevelopmental differences or developmental delays. Those caring for these children are advised to seek additional guidance from specially trained professionals, such as family doctors and public health nurses.
