Beginnings: Parenting

Having a baby is the beginning of a new adventure in your life. You nurtured them with your body, cared for them, waited patiently until you were able to hold them in your arms. and now they are here. Congratulations!!!

But now what? What is the next step? Where do we start to unravel this unique journey? So many questions in so little time, especially when you want to enjoy the simple moments with your child. People say that you are never fully prepared to assimilate the changes that come with parenting, but if we weren’t capable beings willing to learn from challenges, then we probably wouldn’t have new babies in the world.

The good news is that there is help available to you. Like the old saying,“It takes a village to raise a child.”, let us be a part in your village where you can find solace, comfort and support. Even though we are all unique beings with varied experiences, we share the same fears and feelings about this new adventure.

We've created a new program to address how the current pandemic crisis has affected first-time parents while also answering the most common questions of today's parenting, particularly during the early stages, to assist you in navigating the complexities of child-raising.

Beginnings: Parenting is a FREE six-session program aimed at supporting first-time parents. In these drop-in virtual classes, you can learn about the ins and outs of being a parent, share your experiences with other parents, ask questions, and learn about local resources. A Parent Support Coach will guide this responsive, peer support program which will help you connect with other new parents and form relationships; ultimately, we're all in this together.

Each week, we will discuss topics involving Infant Development and Feeding, Birth Stories, Infant Sleep and Cry, Transitioning into Parenthood, Communication Strategies, Perinatal Mental Health, Boundaries Setting, Childcare and Community Supports.

Parenting is one of the most rewarding jobs we’ll ever take on, but like every job, it comes with challenges. We’re here to help. For free.
