From the Lending Library: Children's Lively Minds - Schema Theory Made Visible
Children’s Lively Minds is a look at our role as facilitator to play-based learning meaning that we value the creativity, inventiveness, and collaboration. We ask what is happening that reflects the details of children’s deep desire and skills for learning. We recognize, study and follow the child’s lead to support and enhance the remarkable capacities they already possess for living and learning fully together. This book works through the process of Identifying schemas, Schema Explorations, Environments and Materials to invite schema explorations, and Making Explorations and Learning Visible. As educators, this book offers new ideas, and opportunities for reflection. I’ve only made it through the introduction, but I can’t wait to dig in more!
